Description
Crochet Skill Building – Granny Squares w/Rachael
Up your crochet skills with granny squares! This class will focus on granny square basics, through three different patterns: the Classic Granny, Solid Granny, and Sunburst Granny.
This class will focus on the squares themselves, not an overall project, but we will discuss seaming options and finishing techniques. Take your squares and knowledge and work them into the granny square projects of your dreams, like blankets, wraps, tops, tote bags, and more!
Skill Level: Must have taken Crochet 101 or have previous crochet experience.
Students will learn: Granny square construction, increasing, special stitches, working in the round, special seaming techniques, changing colors.
MATERIALS (Not included, but students receive a 15% student discount on all supplies purchased through Sew to Speak)
Yarn: Worsted or Aran category 4 weight yarn. We recommend Quince & Co Osprey or Lark, or Brooklyn Tweed Tones. Please avoid using novelty yarn (like fur or fringe) or dark color yarn, as it can be difficult to see your stitches while learning. Bring as many or as few colors as you’d like, but for the squares pictured in our sample photos, we used 5 skeins of yarn in Brooklyn Tweed Tones.
Hook: US H / 5mm hook
Students will also receive all information in a pattern designed by our teacher, included in the cost of the class.
